Patrice McBride rocked his first party at 13 and cemented his calling. Formerly known as DJ Manik, the Philadelphia-born, Jersey-bred DJ has become a fixture in Philly and Atlantic City nightlife; recognized for his musical depth, ability to cross genres seamlessly and play for any crowd. Raised in a family of musicians, he developed an ear for good music at an early age. Patrice has put that skill to good use playing in diverse venues around the country. His sets are distinguished by current, high-energy and progressive music. While he appreciates a good oldie, Patrice believes part of a DJ’s job is to break new music and introduce new sounds to the masses. He plays an impressive roster of clubs and lounges and DJs many corporate and private events. He has residencies in Atlantic City and New York City and was a resident at Bond at The Cosmopolitan in Las Vegas. He has done events for Yelp, Saks Fifth Avenue and Neiman Marcus, and counts the 2017 Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles among his clients. He can be found at Lincoln Financial Field warming up the crowd at every Eagles home game, and provides the tunes for their training camps, open practices and other events. Patrice has called many places home, but Philadelphia holds a special place in his heart. It is where many of his musical influences come from and where his DJing career really took shape. After moving back to Philadelphia in 2009 he quickly became a regular at some of the best venues and parties in the city. In 2010, he launched the Artiphax party at the Arts Garage in North Philly. Having grown up in the golden era of Hip-Hop, Patrice wanted to create a space where he could play the genre without restrictions. The Thursday night party had a loyal following that rocked to N.E.R.D., Mobb Deep and Mary J. Blige themed nights. Patrice has been featured in numerous publications including DJ Times, Essence Magazine, Philadelphia Weekly and Press of Atlantic City, and was included in the 2015 CBS Philly Top DJs list. He also had a Saturday night mix show on AC 102.7 called the #SouthJerseySupermixx. He won Best DJ in the 2019 AC Weekly Nightlife Awards, and was the first runner-up in the 2015 Red Bull Thre3Style Philly and in the 2018 Ahh Yeah Amplify Jersey Qualifier. Patrice is also known for his original production work, remixes and DJ edits, which have earned him accolades and the respect of his colleagues. Patrice continues to work on his craft, entertain the people and build his clientele.
